Individual Therapy
My Approach to Counseling
Therapy is a process that invites sharing, vulnerability, honesty, and humility. I am a psychologist who is person-centered and strengths-based in my way of being and my approach to therapy. This means I believe individuals naturally strive to engage deeply, experience authenticity, and heal when met with empathy, genuineness, and non-judgment in relationships. It is my hope that you will experience me as empathic, flexible, and honoring of your lived experiences and wisdom.
My therapeutic approach is integrative and informed by attachment theory and dynamic psychotherapies, systems work, interpersonal psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, multicultural considerations, and the connectedness of our minds and bodies. You can expect me to integrate elements of these therapeutic approaches in ways that are tailored to your needs, strengths, and desired growth.
Our Work Together
From our work together, you can expect to develop strategies to regulate emotions and manage distressing symptoms. I will also support you in gaining understanding of the deeper dynamics at the root of your challenges. Together, we will do the depth work required for to you to heal and shift the underlying causes of your presenting concerns.
At the outset of our work together, we will explore your experiences and self-knowledge as well as your concerns and desired change in collaboratively determining your individualized plan for therapy. We will continue to revisit your goals and our therapeutic relationship to make sure you find our time is being used meaningfully and effectively.
Clinical Supervision
I have experience supervising pre- and post-master’s clinicians. I offer supplemental individual supervision for clinicians-in-training and providers who are in the process of pursuing licensure. Similar to my therapeutic style, I approach clinical supervision from a strengths-based, person-centered, and depth-oriented lens. Please feel free to contact me to discuss clinical supervision.
